Sounds from around the world

The Shanghai Woolies Dance Band began over 20 years ago with a deep study of Louis Armstrong’s music mixed with popular Hot Jazz songs from the 1920’s. Thanks to all of the song requests over the years, we now have sounds & styles from all over the world. Don’t be surprised to hear Madeleine Peyroux “Dance me to the end of Love” in the same set as João Gilberto’s “Desafinado”. By the time you leave a Woolies performance, we want you to feel like you’ve traveled around the world! Next on the list is Berlin 1930s. Perhaps Mack the Knife will be on the next set list!
